Why this exists
Most online "developer tools" send whatever you paste to a server to do the work. When that value is a serialized wp_options blob, a JWT, a password hash, or the contents of an email, that's your data leaving your machine — often to a site wrapped in trackers and ads. ToolDrops exists because none of that is necessary: modern browsers can do the work locally.
How it works
Every tool here runs 100% client-side. The page loads a small amount of JavaScript once, and from then on all processing — serializing, hashing, parsing, converting — happens in your own browser tab. Nothing you type or drop in is uploaded, logged, or stored on a server. You can confirm it: open your browser's network panel and watch, or turn off your connection — the tools keep working. In fact ToolDrops is a Progressive Web App, so you can install it and use it fully offline.
What you get
- Correct results. The WordPress tools (serialize/unserialize, phpass and APR1 hashes, salts) are checked byte-for-byte against real PHP, not approximated.
- No friction. No account, no paywall, no cookie wall to use a tool. Open the page and go — or press ⌘K / Ctrl K to jump between tools.
- Accessibility built in. Theme, contrast, text size, motion, spacing and focus controls ship on every page.
Privacy
Because the tools are client-side, the values you work with never reach us — we couldn't read them if we wanted to. For basic, privacy-respecting visitor counts we use a cookieless analytics beacon that records page views only, never the contents of any tool. See the privacy & cookies page for details, and adjust choices any time via privacy settings.
How it's funded
ToolDrops is free. To cover hosting it may show unobtrusive ads on some pages. Ads never receive the data you enter into a tool — that data stays in your browser regardless. If ads are shown, consent is handled through a standard, certified consent tool so you stay in control.
