Cron Expression Parser

Paste a 5-field cron expression to see what it means and when it runs next. Supports *, ranges, lists, and / steps. Times shown in UTC.

Example: */15 9-17 * * 1-5 = every 15 min, 9am–5pm, Mon–Fri.

Cron fields

Five space-separated fields: minute (0–59), hour (0–23), day-of-month (1–31), month (1–12 or JAN–DEC), day-of-week (0–6 or SUN–SAT, 0 and 7 both mean Sunday). * means every value; a-b a range; a,b,c a list; */n every n.

Day-of-month and day-of-week

When both the day-of-month and day-of-week fields are restricted (neither is *), cron runs when either matches — a common source of surprises. This tool follows that rule.

Time zone

Next-run times are computed in UTC. A real cron daemon uses the server's local time zone, so adjust accordingly. WP-Cron is pseudo-cron: it only fires on site traffic.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my rule run more often than expected?

When both day-of-month and day-of-week are restricted, cron runs if either matches (an OR) — a common surprise. This tool follows that rule.

Do the next-run times match my server?

They're computed in UTC. A real cron daemon uses the server's local time zone, and WP-Cron only fires on site traffic.
