WP-CLI Command Builder
Pick a task, fill in the blanks, and copy a correct wp command — with quoting handled for you. Nothing runs here and nothing is uploaded; the tool only assembles the command string you paste into your own terminal.
What is WP-CLI?
WP-CLI is the command-line interface for WordPress. From your site's directory you can run migrations, manage plugins and users, reset passwords and export the database — often far faster and more reliably than clicking through wp-admin. This builder writes the exact command so you don't fight the quoting.
Notes on the tasks
Search-replace
wp search-replace is serialization-aware, so it safely rewrites URLs even inside serialized data. Always run it with Dry run first to preview the count, and take a backup. Editing a single stored value by hand instead? Use the Serialized Search-Replace tool.
Reset a password
wp user update sets a new password immediately. If you can't use WP-CLI, generate a phpass hash and update wp_users by SQL instead.
Export the database
wp db export writes a SQL dump you can move between environments.
Frequently asked questions
Does this run the commands?
No. It only assembles the command text with correct quoting. Copy it and run it yourself in a terminal on the server, from your WordPress directory.
Why run search-replace through WP-CLI?
wp search-replace understands PHP serialized data, so it rewrites URLs safely even inside serialized options and meta. Run it with --dry-run first and keep a backup.
