The WordPress workflow
WordPress stores arrays and objects in wp_options (and post/user meta) as PHP serialize() strings. To edit one by hand: convert it to JSON here, make your change, switch to JSON → Serialized, and paste the result back into the database. String byte-lengths are recomputed correctly, so the value unserializes.
Byte-accurate
Serialized strings are prefixed with their length in bytes. This converter counts UTF-8 bytes, so multibyte characters (accents, emoji) produce valid output that PHP accepts.
