Unix Timestamp ↔ Date

Convert a Unix timestamp to a readable date, or a date to a timestamp. Seconds or milliseconds, UTC and your local time. Runs in your browser.

What it does

A Unix timestamp is the number of seconds since 1 January 1970 UTC (the “epoch”). This tool turns a timestamp into a human date — in UTC, in ISO 8601, and in your local time — and turns a date back into a timestamp.

Seconds or milliseconds

Timestamps come in both. This tool auto-detects: 13-digit values are treated as milliseconds, 10-digit values as seconds. The result always shows both so you can grab whichever a system expects.

Date → timestamp

Enter an ISO date (2026-08-11T14:30:00Z), a plain 2026-08-11 14:30, or any format your browser's Date parser understands, and get the Unix seconds and milliseconds back.

Privacy

All conversion happens locally in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

Does it handle seconds and milliseconds?

Both — it auto-detects (13-digit values are milliseconds, 10-digit are seconds) and always shows both.

Which time zone are results in?

UTC plus your browser's local time. A server cron or database usually uses the server's zone, so adjust accordingly.
